Cortland Weather Outlook: Friday, August 16

For today's weather forecast, forecasters are anticipating a mostly cloudy day with there being a 50 percent chance of showers throughout the day.

Showers will most likely turn into possible thunderstorms with south winds of up to 8 miles per hour in the afternoon. Mainly after 1 p.m.

Temperatures will increase to a high near 77 degrees during the day and drop to around 63 degrees late in the evening.

Here is a look at the rest of this weekend's weather forecast along with the beginning of next week, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton:

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with there being a slight 30 percent of precipitation throughout the day. Temperatures will increase to a high of around 80 degrees during the day. It will then slowly begin to get clear in the evening. Temperatures will then drop to a near 64 degrees by night time.

Sunday: Partly sunny throughout the day, with temperature increasing to around 84 degrees. There will then be a 40 percent chance of scattered showers in the afternoon that will last for the rest of the day. Temperatures will then begin to drop late in the evening to around 60 degrees.

Monday: Partly cloudy, with there being a slight 30 percent chance of showers in the afternoon. Temperatures will reach a high of around 86 degrees during the day and drop to a near 60 degrees at night.

Tuesday: Partly sunny. with temperatures reaching a high near 82 degrees during the day. Temperatures will then drop to around 60 degrees at night.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with there being a slight 30 percent chance of showers at the beginning of the afternoon. Temperatures will reach a high near 83 degrees during the day and decrease to around 63 degrees at night.
