Police search for missing teen runaways

A teenage couple ran away from their homes Friday as part of a plan to leave the area together and are now considered missing, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

The office is asking for tips about the whereabouts of 14-year-old Brooke Maricle and 17-year-old Thomas Henry.

Maricle was last seen at 10 p.m. Thursday and Henry was last seen between midnight and 12:30 a.m. Friday, according to the department. Police believe the pair are traveling together, but are not certain where the couple is heading, said Sgt. Anthony Phelps.

There is no indication the pair are in danger, Phelps noted in a news release. Deputies are continuing to investigate and ask the public to call the Sheriff’s Office at (607) 753-3311.

Henry is a white teen boy with brown hair and blue eyes. He is tall and thin at six foot, one inch and 135-140 pounds.
