Weekend of Events: What to do around the Cortland County area?

There are always different events and activities happening at and around the Cortland County area on the weekends for people to participate and enjoy.

Here are some of the events happening this weekend in Cortland County:

8th Annual Little York Fall Fiber Arts Festival

The 8th Annual Little York Fall Fiber Arts Festival will be held this weekend from Saturday October 12th to Sunday October 13th.

The event will take place at the national historic Little York Pavilion in Dwyer Memorial Park on Little York Lake (6799 Little York Lake Road, Preble, NY 13141).

The festival will feature variety of vendors, but not limited to knitting, yarn, pelts, raw fleeces, felting, spinning, blankets, shawls, clothing, roving, unique fiber products, crafts, Christmas gifts, handcrafted woodworking and pottery, soaps, maple products, and much more.

Hours of the event include:

Saturday, October 12th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, October 13th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Light refreshments will also be available for purchase.  All proceeds support the CRT Guild.

Admission is $5 for the public to benefit Cortland Repertory Theatre. Kids 12 and under can go in for free.

Homer History Celebration Days

On Friday October 11th and Saturday October 12th, the village of Homer will be celebrating their heritage and history.

On Friday the village of Homer will be celebrating from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Homer Congregational Church located on 28 S Main St, Homer, NY 13077. People will be able to enjoy games, prizes and also see the history of Homer while purchasing a roast pork dinner ($15 for adults, $8 for kids between the ages of 5-12, and free for kids under the age of 4).

On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. people will be able to go to the Homer History Center, located on Min St. Homer to check out exhibits of homers past and history while also taking a history tour from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The 2019 Trinity Valley Corn Maze

The Trinity Valley Corn Maze will be open this weekend on both Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th. .

The Corn Maze has been opened since September 14th now.

Trinity Valley located on 2847 State Route 13 Cortland, NY 13045, is hosting this event on both Saturdays and Sundays until October 27th.

Saturdays will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It costs seven dollars per person, which includes various activities for the whole family to enjoy, such as the corn maze, hayride, tractor train rides, and access to all the playground and educational areas.

The Trinity Valley store and bakery will also be open throughout the day for shopping and fresh homemade baked goods, chili, hot dogs, chili, apple cider and much more.

Families will also be able to enjoy Trinity's mini-farm that includes goats, sheep, and baby calves.
