Homer to temporary close part of Clinton St. this week

According to the Homer Police Department, part of Clinton St. will be closed for approximately three days this week for DDS Companies to complete gas services.

The projected road closure dates on Clinton St. are Wednesday 10/16 – Friday 10/18. They will be allowing local traffic (residents) only into the area.

DDS Companies have installed all of the 2” & 6” gas mains on Clinton St. and are currently working on N. Main St.

The crews are continuing to install mains moving north along N. Main St. and also on Water St. where the tie-in will take place. As the crews work to complete the tie-in on Water St, they will be “’gassing up”  on Monday 10/14 or Tuesday 10/15. That means gas services to each of the houses on Clinton St. will be the next order of business.

In an effort to keep the work progressing as smoothly and quickly as possible there will be a temporary road closure on Clinton St. (refer to the attached map for the area that will be effected).

This would allow crews to work both sides of the road and safely execute the work without as much constraints from traffic. DDS has already obtained approval by NYS permit office. They will be detouring traffic down Warren St. and Maple/Elm Ave. for approximately 3 days to complete gas services on Clinton St.
