Weekend of events: What to do in Cortland County?

There are always different events and activities happening at and around the Cortland County area on the weekends for people to participate and enjoy.

Here are some of the events happening this weekend in Cortland County:

Haunted Coaster Rides at Greek Peak Adventure Center

This weekend, from Thursday, October 17th to Saturday, October 19th, the Greek Peak Mountain Resort will be hosting Haunted Coaster Rides at their Adventure Center.

Hours are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Prices include:

  • $7 for a single ride.
  • $20 for unlimited rides.
  • Ages 3-6 can ride for free.

The 2019 Trinity Valley Corn Maze

The Trinity Valley Corn Maze will be open this weekend on both Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th. .

The Corn Maze has been opened since September 14th.

Trinity Valley located on 2847 State Route 13 Cortland, NY 13045, is hosting this event on both Saturdays and Sundays until October 27th.

Saturdays will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It costs $7 per person, which includes various activities for the whole family to enjoy, such as the corn maze, hayride, tractor train rides, and access to all the playground and educational areas.

The Trinity Valley store and bakery will also be open throughout the day for shopping and fresh homemade baked goods, chili, hot dogs, chili, apple cider and much more.

Families will also be able to enjoy Trinity's mini-farm that includes goats, sheep, and baby calves.

Safe in the woods

This weekend on Sunday, October 20th, at the Lime Hollow Nature Center located on 338 McLean Rd, Cortland, NY, there will be a presentation on what to do if you come across a wild animal or hunter while on a trail.

This one hour presentation will begin at 3 p.m.

The presenter, Roger Fulton, is an outdoor writer and the author of more than 30 regional trail guidebooks for New York and Florida. He will be giving tips and advice on how to prepare yourself when coming across  these certain situations.
