Cincinnatus and McGraw boys soccer advance to Sectionals Quarter-Finals

Yesterday, both Cortland County boys soccer teams (Cincinnatus and McGraw) won their first round Section III Class D Sectional Playoff match-ups in order to advance to the Quarter-Finals.

Cincinnatus Lions-

The #5 seeded Cincinnatus lions went head to head against the #12 seeded Stockbridge Valley at home.

The Lions were able to get away with a 3-0 win with two goals from Cason Stafford and one from Nolan. Rice. The goals were assisted by Scott Schuyler who had two assist and Jordan Larrabee who had one.

By the end of the game, Cincinnatus goalkeeper Kooper Vosburg had three saves.

The lions will be traveling tomorrow, Friday October 25th to face #4 seeded Manlius Pebble Hill for a chance to advance into the Sectionals Semi-Finals. The game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.

McGraw Eagles-

The #11 seeded Mcgraw varsity boys soccer team dominated #6 seeded Faith Heritage, defeating them 4-0 on the road, advancing to the Quarter Finals of the Section III Class D Sectional Playoffs.

Jackson Card had a big part in the game with him being involved on all four goals, as he scored two and provided two assists.

The other two goals were scored by Dominik Cook who also had an assist and Caleb Smith. Caleb Knickerbocker also finished the game with an assist.

The Eagles goalkeeper, Nolan Knickerbocker was also a big part of the game with him finishing the game with a total of seven saves.

McGraw will be going against #3 seeded Poland on the road tomorrow, Friday October 25th. The game will begin at 3 p.m. The Eagles have already defeated Poland 2-0 earlier in the regular season on a home game.
