Weekend of Events: What to do in Cortland County?

There are always different events and activities happening at and around the Cortland County area on the weekends for people to participate and enjoy.

Here are some of the events happening this weekend in Cortland County:

Marathon Annual Halloween Parade and Party

Marathon will be holding their annual Halloween Parade and Party tomorrow, Saturday October 26th from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The parade will take place at the Marathon's Village Green. People will start lining up at around 3:15 p.m.  There will then be games and judging held at the Civic Center.‌

Make sure to Bring a food donation and get an extra ticket for door prizes.

Cortland Zombie Walk

On Saturday October 26th starting at 5 p.m., zombies will be dragging their bodies from the 1890 House to Tompkins Street, Cortland to Main Street. As they will be looking for food made from local establishments.

Zombies will then do the same in Homer starting at 6 p.m from the Village Green. The dead will drag themselves looking for more food. The zombies will then join the Chiller Haunted House at the Center for the Arts located on 72 S Main St, Homer, NY 13077.

The Chiller Haunted House makes a return to the Center for the Arts in Homer this year.

The Haunted House has been open since yesterday, Thursday, October 24th and will remain open until Saturday, October 26th.

Hours of operation are from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Admission prices are:

  • $5 Per Adult
  • $3 for anyone 15 and under

There will also be non-scary tours taking place on Saturday, October 26th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The 2019 Trinity Valley Corn Maze

This will be the last weekend that the The Trinity Valley Corn Maze will be open.

The Corn Maze has been opened since September 14th.

Trinity Valley located on 2847 State Route 13 Cortland, NY 13045, has been hosting this event on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturdays will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It costs $7 per person, which includes various activities for the whole family to enjoy, such as the corn maze, hayride, tractor train rides, and access to all the playground and educational areas.

The Trinity Valley store and bakery will also be open throughout the day for shopping and fresh homemade baked goods, chili, hot dogs, chili, apple cider and much more.

Families will also be able to enjoy Trinity's mini-farm that includes goats, sheep, and baby calves.
