Cortland County: DWI Round Up

Accused: Belinda M. Brown, 42, of Cortland

Charges: Driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content at or above 0.0 8 percent, misdemeanors; failure to keep right on a two lane road, an infraction.

Details: Brown was pulled over near the intersection of Route 41 and Stillwell Road in Solon and was arrested at 1:29 a.m. Thursday, according to State police. Brown was released to a third party.

Accused: Orlando A. Lewis, 40, of Glassboro, New Jersey

Charges: Driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content at or above 0.0 8 percent, misdemeanors; operating a vehicle in violation of safety rules, failed to use designated lane, impeding traffic by driving too slowly

Details: Lewis was pulled over at 5:27 p.m. Wednesday on Southbound Interstate 81 in Virgil, according to State police. Lewis was arrested, released and given a ticket to appear in Virgil Town Court at a later date.

Accused: Connar M. Mitchell, 22, of 5465 Maybury Road, McGraw

Charges: Driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content at or above 0.08 percent, misdemeanors, and failure to use the designated lane, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and an unlicensed operator, infractions.

Details: At about 1:19 a.m. Friday, Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of East River Road and Maybury Road in Homer for a one-car accident, according to the department. Officers determined Mitchell was travelling north on East River Road when he drove off the street and then left the accident scene. Mitchell was found intoxicated nearby on Maybury Road, according to the Department. Mitchell was arrested, processed and released to appear at 4 p.m. Nov. 19 in Homer Town Court.

Accused: Lisa Mabry, 27, of 1404 East River Road, Cortlandville

Charges: Driving while intoxicated as a first offense, aggravated driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, misdemeanors, according to the city police department. Mabry was also ticketed for three minor traffic infractions, according to the department. 

Details: Mabry was stopped for illegally moving outside her own lane at 1:12 a.m. Monday and found not to have a valid driver’s license and to be intoxicated, according to city police.  

She was arrested, processed and released; Mabry was ticketed to appear at 9 a.m. on Nov. 20 in City Court.
