Weekend of Events: What to do in Cortland County?

There are always different events and activities happening at and around the Cortland County area on the weekends for people to participate and enjoy.

With Veterans Day coming up and this being a long weekend, here are some of the events happening in Cortland County:

Story Slam

Back by popular demand, the Cultural Council of Cortland County will be offering a second Story Slam event tonight, November 7th at the Center for the Arts located on 72 S Main St, Homer, NY 13077.

This event encourages the art of storytelling with the community offering the opportunity for friends and neighbors to share their road trip stories in front of a live audience.

The event will begin at 7 p.m.

Ticket prices to get in are:

  • $5 Cultural Council members
  • $7 Advanced Sale
  • $8 At the Door

Jason Wicks at One Cent Saloon

Tomorrow, Friday, November 8th, country music musician Jason Wicks and his band will take the stage at The One Cent Saloon located on 183 Main St, Cortland, NY 13045.

Music will start at 9 p.m.

3rd Annual Veterans Day Breakfast

The City of Cortland Police Department, Cortlandville Lowe's Home Improvement Store and the Community Restaurant are partnering up once again to honor our veterans on Monday, November 11th, 2019.

A complimentary buffet style breakfast will be provided to Veterans with proof of service throughout the two-hour event.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. on Veterans Day at the City of Cortland Office of Community Policing located on 67 Main Street, Cortland, New York 13045.

Anyone wanting to attend the event and is not a veteran is asked to make a minimum donation of $5 per plate at the door.

Veterans Day Watchfire

The Veterans Day Watchfire event will be taking place this upcoming Monday November 11th at the CNY Living History Center located on 4386 US-11, Cortland, NY 13045.

The purpose of this event id to honor Veterans and respectfully destroy retired and or tattered flags.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m.
