Arrest outside Homer Elementary was 1 of 7 DWI's this week

Accused: Gregory J. Lang, 51, of 1986 Preble Rd, Preble
Charges: Driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; refusal to submit to a breath screening test and driving in a through-traffic prohibited zone, infractions. Additional charges are pending.
Details: Lang was arrested at 3:16 p.m. Thursday on South Main Street for driving while
intoxicated near the Homer Elementary School, according to a Homer Police Department
release sent today. A school resource officer spotted Lang driving at about 2:55 p.m. on
Central Park Place, which is closed to through traffic between 2:45 and 3:45 in the
afternoon, according to the release. The school resource officer met Lang on South Main
Street and determined he was driving while intoxicated, police said.
Legal action: Lang was processed and released on tickets to appear on Dec. 10 in Homer
Town Court.

Accused: Andrew Johnson, 28, of 1155 Sykes Road Canton
Charges: Aggravated driving while intoxicated with blood-alcohol content greater than 18 percent, driving while intoxicated as a first offense, two traffic infractions
Details: City officers pulled Johnson over at 9:29 p.m. on Friday, after he failed to use the proper lane to turn at the intersection of Main and Tompkins streets, and determined he was intoxicated, according to the Cortland Police Department.
Legal action: Johnson was issued a ticket to return to City Court at 9 a.m. Dec. 4.

Accused: Joseph Kohout (30) of 43 Madison Street, Apt. 1
Charges: Driving while intoxicated as a first offense and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08 percent, misdemeanors, as well as three minor traffic violations
Details: Kohout passed a red light about 9:45 p.m. Friday on Groton Avenue, was stopped by police and was found to be intoxicated, according to the Cortland Police Department.
Legal action: Kohout was released and is set to appear at 9 a.m. Dec. 4 in City Court.

Accused: Robert McGuinness, 54, of 275 Chipmans Corners Road, Groton
Charges: Aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent or greater and first-offense driving while intoxicated, misdemeanors, as well as three minor traffic violations
Details: McGuinness crossed the center yellow line about 12:35 a.m. Saturday while driving on Groton Avenue, was stopped and found to be intoxicated, according to city police.
Legal action: McGuinness was released and is set to appear at 9 a.m. on Dec. 4 in City Court.

Charges: Aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent or greater and first-offense driving while intoxicated, misdemeanors, as well as a minor traffic violation
Details: Petrucci did not stop for a red light about 5:24 p.m. on Saturday on Main Street, was pulled over and found to be intoxicated, according to the Cortland Police Department.
Legal action: Petrucci was released and is set to appear at 9 a.m. on Dec. 5 in City Court.

Accused: Sara Tinsley, 24, of 812 East Lake Road, Penn Yan
Charges: Aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent or greater and first-offense driving while intoxicated, misdemeanors, as well as a minor traffic violation
Details: Tinsley was stopped by police at 1:43 a.m. Sunday at Tompkins Street for driving without headlights and was found to be intoxicated, according to the Cortland Police Department.

Details: Cortland County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped Wade about 3:30 a.m. on
Saturday on Route 11 in Preble, according to the department.
Legal action: Wade was released and is set to appear at 6 p.m.on Tuesday in Preble
Town Court.
