October Teacher of the Month: Cody Salisbury, OCM Boces

We are excited to share the news that October's winner of the Cortland Voice Teacher of the Month Award is Cody Salisbury, a teacher in the elementary stellata program at OCM Boces .

For his hard work and dedication, Cody received a complimentary gift basket courtesy of Edible Arrangements of Ithaca.

Cody started as a TA in 2015, and is currently in his third year of teaching. He earned his undergraduate degree from SUNY Brockport in history, and his masters degree in education from SUNY Cortland.

Cody was born and raised in Cortland, New York. He comes from a single-parent household, where he lived with his mom and was the oldest boy out of his seven siblings.

He said that having a big family taught him patience, because he was the man of the house. He wanted to make a difference in the life of the students, which is why he chose to teach. Cody has a son named Baylor, and his girlfriend (Ashley) is currently expecting.

Cody's nomination was submitted by Patricia Henry:

Cody is a teacher in the elementary stellata program at OCM Boces. Even though the students can be rather challenging at times, Cody has never ending patients. Cody also goes above and beyond to meet the needs of his students. Cody also is always willing to help fellow staff members just as much as students! We students and staff value Cody here at OCM BOCES!

Nominations are still open for the month of November. Visit our Teacher of the Month page to fill out a nomination form and vote for your favorite educator!
