A few days ago, The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning along several Counties within the Central N.Y. area, including Cortland.
This Winter Storm has already begun this morning of Sunday December 1st and is now expected to go through until the morning hours of Tuesday, December 3rd.
Forecasters are anticipating both freezing rain and heavy snow showers with snow accumulations of anywhere between 9 to 15 inches.
According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest period of snow will occur Sunday night going into Monday morning with snowfall rates of up to two inches per hour.
These hazardous weather conditions could make travel very difficult or even impossible, especially coming back from the holiday weekend and a Monday morning commute.
