Lafayette Woman Arrested and Charged with Grand Larceny

On Friday, November 29th, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rebecca Rogers, 44, following a fraud investigation.

The investigation revealed that while employed at a local business in the Town of Homer, Rogers had stolen over $3,000 from her employer, along with stealing company checks where she uttered them at a bank in the Town of Cortlandville.

According to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, this occurred over the course of 5 months.

Rogers was arrested and held on no bail at the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office after turning herself in.

She was charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree in the Town of Homer and the Town of Cortlandville. She was also charged and arrested for (18) counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd Degree.

According to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, the defendant is due back in the Town of Cortlandville Court today, December 2nd, 2019.
