Item #15 – Discussion and Consideration of a Resolution to remain a participant in the Cortland County-Wide Workers’ Compensation plan. (Mack Cook)

Whereas, the Cortland County Workers’ Compensation Plan has function since its inception as a self-insured plan of which the City of Cortland is a participant, and

Whereas, it has become evident that the Plan continuing as a self-insured plan is neither financially nor functionally sustainable, and Whereas, a tentative agreement has been reached among some participating members to convert the plan from the self-insured plan to one that utilizes a State-Wide Governmental Risk Pool.

Therefore Be It Resolved, the City will continue to participate in a new Cortland County-Wide Workers’ Compensation Plan contingent upon Cortland County completing such actions that converts the current self-insure model to a model that participates in a State-Wide Government Risk Pool. (On or before December 31, 2020)
