Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, December 4

Your Finger Lakes Weather forecast for Cortland and the surrounding areas for Wednesday, December 4, 2019:

A weak weather system will pass by, keeping skies cloudy with a chance for scattered snow showers.

Snow showers will be possible at any time during the day and into the evening. Any individual snow shower should not last long, however. A few snow showers may have some briefly heavier snow.

Snow accumulations will be limited with most of Cortland County seeing an inch or less.

Winds will be from the southwest between 8-12 mph with gusts as high as 22 mph. Winds will be strongest in the morning and will weaken slightly in the afternoon.

Here is a look at the rest of this week's weather forecast:

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, a few bands of lake effect snow showers, especially over the northern part of the county. An inch or so of accumulation possible. Temperatures will start in the upper 20s and reach a high in the low 30s.

Friday: Cloudy with snow throughout the day. Snow accumulations around two inches. Temperatures will start in the low 20s and reach a high in the upper 20s.

Saturday: A mix of sun and clouds. No precipitation expected. Temperatures will start in the mid single digits and reach a high in the upper 20s.

Sunday: Sunshine filtered through thin clouds. No precipitation expected. Much warmer in the afternoon, with highs around 40 degrees after morning lows in the mid teens.
