An incoming storm system will make for a rainy Monday.

Rain showers will begin early in the morning but will remain off and on at first. However, by the late morning, the rain will become widespread and steady.

The rain will persist deep into the afternoon before it tapers off. More showers will be possible throughout the evening.

Rain amounts will be on the order of a quarter to a half inch, so flooding should not be a concern.

Temperatures will start the day in the mid 30s and will rise into the low 40s.

Winds will be from the south at 8-12 mph with gusts of 25-30 mph.

Here is a look at the weather forecast for the next several days:

Tuesday: On and off rain showers, turning to some flurries late. Temperatures start and remain in the low 40s until the mid afternoon, when they drop into the 30s.

Wednesday: On and off snow showers possible. Temperatures start near 20 degrees in the morning and top out in the upper 20s during the afternoon.

Thursday: A little lake effect snow in the morning, but then turning dry and sunny. Temperatures start in the low teens and rise to the mid 20s.

Friday: Sunshine with a few late clouds. No precipitation expected. Morning temperatures will be in the mid teens with afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
