Today will be a quiet day across the region as high pressure slides through.

This high pressure system will be centered to our southeast, meaning a day of light southerly winds. Wind speeds will be only be 3-7 mph with top gusts around 15 mph.

The wind will not bring in much in the way of warmer air, but it will keep lake effect snow out of the picture. No precipitation is expected with a mix of sun and clouds early, and some sunshine filtered through thin clouds in the afternoon.

Temperatures this morning will steadily rise up through the teens and 20s, topping out with an afternoon high just shy of 30 degrees.

The south wind will increase after sunset, keeping temperatures in the mid and upper 20s overnight.

Friday: A little early sunshine, but then clouds thicken. No precipitation expected. Morning temperatures will be in the mid 20s with afternoon highs near 40 degrees.

Saturday: Cloudy with rain, especially during the morning. Perhaps some snow by evening. Morning temperatures in the upper 30s with afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Sunday: Rain and snow showers likely throughout the day. Morning temperatures in the low 30s with afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Monday: A few morning flurries. Otherwise, partly cloudy. Low temperatures in the morning near 20 degrees. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.
