Weekend of Events: What to do in Cortland County?

There are always different events and activities happening at and around the Cortland County area on the weekends for people to participate and enjoy.

Here are some of the events happening this weekend in Cortland County:

New Year's Tea at 1890 House Museum

The 1890 House Museum located on 37 Tompkins St, Cortland, NY 13045 is celebrating the New Year in classic 20’s style. The house will be decorated for the holidays.

There will be a variety of foods available, such as biscuits, tea sandwiches, teas, scones and much more.

The event is scheduled for two different days.

Saturday December 28th at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Sunday December 29th at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Prices include:

Adults-$22

Children- $15

Seniors, Students, & Military- $18.90

Cortland-Homer Christmas Hockey Tournament

The Cortland-Homer Christmas Hockey Tournament will take place this weekend at the JM McDonald Sports Complex located on 4292 Fairgrounds Dr, Cortland, NY 13045.

The Tournament will run for two days, as the Cortland-Homer Golden Eagles take on Saratoga Springs on Friday, December 27th at 5 p.m. and Shenendehowa on Saturday, December 28th at 1 p.m.

Cortland Varsity Boys Basketball Christmas Tournament

The Cortland Varsity Boys Basketball team will be holding their Christmas Tournament this weekend at the Cortland Jr./Sr. High School located on 8 Valley View Dr, Cortland, NY 13045.

The first round of the tournament will be taking place on Friday, December 27th at 5:15 p.m. and the second round will be taking place on Saturday, December 28th at 5:15 p.m.

Other teams that were invited to the tournament include Moravia, McGraw, and Dryden.

All games will be played at the High School’s Shafer Gym.
