After a quiet morning, a rainy afternoon is in store for the area today.

Bits of sunshine early today will gradually be replaced by thick clouds during the morning. It should stay dry throughout the morning, though.

During the early afternoon, rain will move in from the west. While it may be spotty rain for the first hour or so, the rain should become steady. Once the steady rain begins, it should continue until the evening hours.

Overnight, the steady rain will taper back to on and off showers.

Temperatures will rise to about 40 degrees this morning, then hold steady around 40 until the sun sets. Temperatures should then drop back into the mid 30s.

Above the surface, temperatures will remain well above freezing, keeping precipitation all rain.

Southeast winds will increase through the day, building to 7-12 mph by the late afternoon and continuing into the evening. Top gusts will be 20-25 mph.

Thursday: Sunshine with a few clouds passing through. Morning temperatures in the low 20s with afternoon highs in the upper 30s.
