Cortland varsity girls volleyball team remains undefeated!

The Cortland varsity girls volleyball team remains undefeated, after defeating Manlius Pebble Hill in three straight sets last night.

The Tigers are now 10-0 overall in the season. They dominated the first two sets of the game 25-3 each.

"In the first two sets, we beat them on serves," said Cortland Head Coach Cheri Olson. "We have some tough servers in our team. So if you are not used to facing that, then you will have trouble getting those balls back."

In the third set, M.P.H was hoping for a late comeback. They pulled within two points (10-8), but the Tigers would win the set 25-12.

"It's been a really great season so far," said Coach Olson. "In the third set, we always put in different players than in the first two. I had no fear that we wouldn't win it. It's nice to see that everyone is getting playing time and experience."

Cortland senior Grace Call led the team with a total of 11 assists to go along with her three aces and two digs. Senior Kayci Olson led the Tigers in kills, with a total of seven kills in the game.

Up next, the Tigers will be looking to extend their undefeated season against Tully at home on Thursday, January 9th at 6:30 p.m.
