Another quiet day is in store for the region, but the first signs of a change will be in the sky.

A deck of thin clouds will filter the sunshine today in response to a developing storm system over the middle of the country. No precipitation will fall today, or even Friday, but an active weekend will be possible.

Temperatures will continue their warming trend on south winds. Look for highs today to reach the mid 30s.

The south wind will be light, under 5 mph most of the day. Top gusts will only just get above 10 mph.

Friday: Another day of filtered sunshine. Morning lows in the mid teens. Afternoon highs around 40.

Saturday: Cloudy with periods of snow, possibly mixing with ice or rain. Lows in the upper 20s with afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Sunday: Scattered snow showers. Lows in the upper 20s with afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Monday: A mix of sun and clouds. Maybe an early flurry. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
