McGraw varsity boys basketball team defeats Cincy at home

Last night the McGraw varsity boys basketball team defeated the Cincinnatus Lions 73-39 at home.

The McGraw Eagles jumped to an early 49-10 lead at the end of the first half.  

Cincinnatus put up a fight by outscoring Mcgraw in the second half, but there wasn’t enough time left.. 

McGraw junior Caleb Smith led the Eagles with 20 points and nine rebounds. Fellow junior Zach Lamarre scored 13 points, while Brent Thomas scored nine.

Cincinnatus was led by junior Trenton Streichert with 11 points, while Scott Schuyler scored 10.

“In the first half, we came out playing with some really intense defense,” said McGraw head coach Derek Allen. “We created a lot of turnovers and scored some buckets in transition. In the second half, Cincy really showed us some fight. They outscored us in the second half. They rebounded really well, and played tough defense.”

Up next, McGraw will be facing Stockbridge Valley on the road on Tuesday, January 28th at 7 pm., while Cincinnatus travels to face Hamilton on Monday, January 27th at 7 pm.
