Your Finger Lakes Weather forecast for Cortland and the surrounding areas for Sunday, January 26, 2020:

The low pressure system that brought yesterday’s rain, ice, and snow to the area is pulling away from the area.

In its wake, a few on and off periods of snow are expected. The best chances for snow will come this morning and again during the nighttime hours.

Temperatures during the day will not change much, rising from the low 30s this morning to the mid 30s this afternoon. With temperatures above freezing, snow accumulations should be minimal.

Tonight, temperatures will fall back below freezing to about 30 degrees. The snow that falls during the night should leave a fresh inch or two by Monday morning.

Winds today will be from the southwest at 7-12 mph with gusts reaching 20-25 mph.

Monday: On and off snow showers. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Tuesday: Snow showers in the morning and again at night. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.

Wednesday: An early flurry, then some sun. Lows in the low 20s. Highs in the mid 20s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Lows start near zero with afternoon highs in the mid 20s.
