Cortland Weather Outlook: Tuesday, January 28

Your Finger Lakes Weather forecast for Cortland and the surrounding areas for Tuesday, January 28, 2020:

Northwest winds will continue to produce lake effect snow showers throughout our day today before they finally taper off tonight.

Like Monday, the snow will be most plentiful early on today. As the day goes on, the snow will become lighter and spottier.

On and off snow showers are possible into the evening, but should dissipate by dawn Wednesday.

Accumulations throughout today and tonight will be around an inch or so with the highest amounts over higher elevations.

The winds will be similar to Monday at 7-12 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Temperatures will again change very little through the day with highs topping out in the upper 20s.

Wednesday: Morning clouds and maybe a flurry, but clear and sunny for the afternoon. Lows in the mid teens. Highs in the mid 20s.

Thursday: Sunny with some thin clouds, especially in the afternoon. Lows start near or just below zero with afternoon highs in the upper 20s.

Friday: A mix of sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low teens. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Saturday: Cloudy with a few snow showers possible. Morning lows in the low teens. Highs in the mid 30s.
