City police report three felony DWIs this week

Accused: Ashley L. Mayhood, 27, of 927 Jackson Creek Road, Erin, Chemung County

Charges: Driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction in 10 years and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater, felonies; passing a red light, a violation

Details: Mayhood was stopped and arrested at 1:59 a.m. today after passing a red light on Main Street and was determined to be intoxicated, according to the Cortland Police Department.

Legal action: Mayhood was released to appear at 1:30 p.m. on April 10.

Accused: Patrick W. Shay, 32, of 3 Stevens Road, Freeville

Charges: Driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction in 10 years and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater, felonies; lane use violation and failure to stop for stop sign, traffic infractions

Details: Shay was pulled over at 11:01 p.m. Thursday on Central Avenue after failing to stop for a stop sign, according to the City Police Department. 

Legal action: Shay was released and is set to appear at 1:45 p.m. April 10.

Accused: Michael J. Johnson, 38, of 14 Pearne Ave., Cortland

Charges: Driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction in 10 years and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater, felonies; aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, improper use of a signal and uninspected motor vehicle, violations.

Details: Johnson was stopped at 2:02 a.m. Sunday on Church Street after he passed through three intersections with his right turn signal on, according to the City Police Department.

Legal action: Johnson was released to appear at 9 a.m. on March 13 in City Court.
