An area of low pressure will swing through the area today with snow, wind, and a bit of rain.

Several hours of steady moderate snow will fall this morning. With temperatures rising into the low 30s, only modest travel delays are anticipated with 1-3 inches of accumulation. The higher elevations will see the most snow.

Steady precipitation will taper off as it turns to rain showers during the late morning and midday hours. Much of the afternoon will be dry with just a few passing showers or some drizzle.

South winds will be strong, especially this morning, with speeds of 12-17 mph and gusts as high as 40 mph. The wind speed will lessen some for the afternoon as winds turn to the southwest, then west.

High temperatures this afternoon will peak near 40 degrees before falling into the 30s for the evening.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows near 10. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.
