Lake effect snow will again be the primary weather concern for today, but overall should not cause too many major problems.

The primary band of lake effect is starting this morning well north of the area. As the morning goes on, the snow will sink south and pass through Cortland county.

The best chance for snow seems to be during the second half of the morning. Slight travel delays will be possible with 1-3 inches falling.

The lake effect should continue south where it will dissipate this afternoon. A few more flurries will be possible, along with some glimpses of sunshine. Additional snow showers will be possible overnight.

Temperatures will be chilly today, topping out in the upper teens.

Northwest winds will blow between 5-10 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

Friday: Lots of sunshine. Morning lows in the mid single digits. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low teens. Afternoon highs near 40.

Sunday: Sunshine early with thin clouds in the afternoon. Morning lows in the low teens with afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Monday: Cloudy with rain showers. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
