It was a tough loss for the Homer Trojans, after a close game vs. 3rd seed General Brown.

The Trojans were able to keep the game close. They took the lead with four minutes left in the fourth quarter, but were not able to keep it.

“Everything seemed to be going against us, but we kept fighting and gave ourselves a chance to win,” said Homer Head Coach Rex Ryan. “We turned the ball over too many times, and couldn’t seem to get a defensive stop when we needed it most.”

Jarrett Wilbur led the Trojans with 17 points, while Gavynn Aldrich scored 10.

The Trojans ended the season with an 11-11 overall record.

“Overall, this was a great season,” stated Coach Ryan. “The seniors this season have now created the new expectation for the basketball program moving forward. They were a group of kids who worked their tails off, and never took a moment for granted. I’d take any of them back in a heartbeat. They are a group of kids who make people smile when they enter a room, not when they leave. I can’t thank them enough for an amazing first season as a coach.”

Jerze Joseph led the Trojans with 18 points on the night, while Gracie Patriarco scored nine.

South Jefferson was led by Jackie Piddock with 35 points.

The Lady Trojans ended the season with an 11-11 record, and will look to come back strong next winter season.
