Last night, the Cortland-Homer Hockey team suffered a tough 4-0 loss to the defending State Champions Skaneateles in the Semi-Final round of Sectionals. The game was a rematch of last year's sectional title game.

It was a rough start for the Golden-Eagles, with freshman Ben McGrath getting injured in the first 10 minutes of the game. He was unable to return to play.

“That really hurt, because he is one of our best players at crashing the net for rebounds on the power play and put more ice time on other guys,” said Cortland-Homer Head Coach Chad Totman.

The Golden-Eagles had some scoring chances, but were unlucky and unable to convert.

Charlie Russell led Skaneateles with two goals and one assist.

"I couldn't be prouder of how much this team grew from the start to the end of the season,” stated Coach Totman. “We won the last five out seven games and out scored other teams 31-14."

The Golden-Eagles ended the season with an 8-14 overall record.
