A Scott man was arrested Thursday for raping a 13-year-old girl and providing her with marijuana, said the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Lee Wagner, 29, of Cold Brook Road, voluntarily turned himself in to officers Thursday at the Sheriff’s Office at 54 Greenbush Street, police said.
Officers began investigating after receiving a sex abuse report on Jan. 20 and were sent to a Cold Brook Road residence, according to the department. During their week long investigation, officers determined Wagner raped a 13-year-old girl, whom he knew, outside a residence in Scott, police said.
Wagner had been giving the girl marijuana, said Lt. Todd Caufield an interview this morning.
Police charged Wagner with second-degree rape, second-degree criminal sex act, second-degree criminal sale of marijuana, felonies, as well as endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
Wagner’s next court date is 6 p.m. March 3.
