This is a press release from Cortland County Clerk of the Legislature Eric Mulvihill

Due to a temporary staffing shortage customers at the Cortland County Department of Motor Vehicles can expect to see longer lines and increased wait times this week.

Cortland County Clerk Elizabeth Larkin says, “The Cortland County DMV will remain open for regular business this week but wait times will be increased.”

Larkin urges customers to consider moving their planned DMV transactions until next week in order to avoid the delays. Larkin also reminds customers particularly Cortland County residents that 12% of transactions completed at the local are retained by the County and therefore encourages customers to do business locally.

Larkin anticipates staffing levels will be at full strength next week.
