Cortland Weather Outlook: Thursday, March 26

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, March 26, 2020:

Another day, another weather system will approach the region. This one will be a bit different than the previous few though, and much of the day will be comfortable.

Clouds will gradually replace sunshine this morning and into the early afternoon as this next system moves in. While the morning should be more sunny than cloudy, fortunes will switch for the afternoon.

Scattered rain showers will then move in around sunset and persist for the evening. This rain will be along a cold front that will move through overnight.

Out ahead of that front, winds will be from the south at 5-10 mph. The wind and early sunshine will help temperatures rise to their warmest levels of the week.

Highs should reach into the mid and upper 50s this afternoon. Evening temperatures will quickly fall through the 40s as the front moves through and winds turn to the northwest.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Friday: A few early clouds, then mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Saturday: Increasing clouds. Rain arriving in the late afternoon. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Sunday: Scattered showers. Maybe a late day thunderstorm. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Monday: Cloudy with rain showers. Maybe a little higher elevation snow late. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
