Cortland Weather Outlook: Thursday, April 2

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, April 2, 2020:

Clouds will return to the region today and temperatures will remain slightly below normal for the start of April.

A large storm system stalled out off the coast of New England will throw moisture back towards Cortland County today from the north and east.

Clouds will thicken this morning and remain in place for the rest of the day. Precipitation is not expected during the day, but a shower or flurry after midnight cannot be ruled out.

Blustery northwest winds will set up after sunrise and persist through the afternoon. Wind speeds of 15-20 mph with gusts to 35 mph are expected.

With the clouds and stiff northwest winds, temperatures will again be stuck at or below 45 degrees. The average high for early April is closer to 50 degrees.

Evening temperatures will drop to around 40 degrees before 30s move in overnight.

Friday: Clouds with a few rain showers, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: Maybe a morning shower. Then, clouds and some late sun. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Sunday: Sun, clouds, and scattered showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Monday: Lots of sun and a few thin clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
