A quieter, but cooler day will unfold today behind yesterday’s storm system.

Some sunshine is likely this morning before thin clouds spread into the region for the afternoon. These clouds may let some sunshine filter through at times but will be more overcast at other times.

No precipitation is expected today, though.

Winds will be lighter, coming from the west and northwest at around 10 mph. Peak wind gusts will be around 25 mph.

Temperatures will rise into the mid 40s this afternoon, which is about ten degrees below normal for mid-April.

Clouds will linger into the evening, but skies should eventually clear overnight. A flurry or two cannot be ruled out, especially toward midnight.

Evening temperatures will fall back through the 30s and into the 20s overnight.
