Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, April 17, 2020:

Most of today will be quiet but remaining chilly. Another round of snow will then move in late in the day.

Clouds will gradually thicken as the day goes on, becoming a thick overcast by the afternoon. No precipitation is expected until the late afternoon or evening hours.

Snow will then work in from the west and fall steadily through the evening. Moderate to heavy snow rates are expected with several inches falling by Saturday morning. Most of the county should expect 2-4 inches of accumulation.

Needless to say, temperatures will continue to be well below normal. Highs may end up a bit warmer than the last couple days though, reaching the low 40s.

Temperatures will fall through the 30s as the snow moves in.

Winds will start from the west before turning to the southwest. Wind speeds will be between 5-10 mph with gusts reaching 25 mph.

Saturday: Morning snow ending early. Some sun late. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Sunday: Morning sun, then increasing clouds and perhaps a late shower. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Monday: Morning clouds giving way to sunshine. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Tuesday: Cloudy with rain showers. Perhaps a few higher elevation snowflakes as well. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
