Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, April 18

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, April 18, 2020:

Our weather continues to behave as if March and April swapped places.

Today, we will transition from the lingering effects of the departing storm system that left snow across the region to the influence of high pressure.

A few flurries will continue to be possible early this morning before coming to an end. Skies will be cloudy through the midday and into the afternoon, but sunshine will eventually break through.

By this evening, skies will be mostly clear.

A stiff northwest wind behind the departing low will gust to 30 mph at times. This, plus the fresh snow, will ensure high temperatures today struggle to even get to 40 degrees.

Temperatures will quickly fall into the 20s this evening, but then a south wind will kick up and temperatures will remain steady through the overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Sunday: Morning sun, then increasing clouds and a few late showers. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Monday: Morning clouds giving way to sunshine. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Tuesday: Cloudy with rain showers. Perhaps a few higher elevation snowflakes as well. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Wednesday: A mix of sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
