This morning, SUNY Cortland announced the postponement of this year's alumni reunion. This year's reunion was scheduled for July 9th - 12th.

Here is the email that went out this morning from Executive Director of Alumni Engagement Erin Boylan:

Dear Red Dragons,

I hope this email finds you and your loved ones safe and well. We have been thinking of all of you often during these difficult times.

We will be postponing Alumni Reunion 2020. Instead, we will invite all feature groups to gather at Alumni Reunion 2021, July 15-18. It was a difficult decision, and one made with a heavy heart, but we believe it is necessary to protect the health and safety of our alumni. Our team discussed all alternatives, and feel this will give our Red Dragons the best Reunion possible under the circumstances. Our sister SUNY institutions have made similar postponements. We will work with the reunion committees to make sure you have a great time.

Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. We find so much joy in bringing Cortland alumni together, but it is important for everyone's safety and our long-term relationships to keep our connections virtual at this time. I look forward to the day when we can safely gather together again and celebrate Cortland.

With Red Dragon Pride,

Erin Boylan

Executive Director, Alumni Engagement

We reached out to Erin Boylan, and she told us that, “It was a difficult decision to postpone the milestone groups that had been working all year to plan a great celebration, and one made with a heavy heart, but we believe it is necessary to protect the health and safety of our alumni. We will continue to work with the groups this year to ensure they have a fun weekend in 2021.”
