Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, April 23, 2020:

An area of low pressure will move through the Ohio Valley today, spawning a small but persistent area of precipitation across our region.

This should move into Cortland County during the late morning or midday hours, starting out as some snow.

By the late afternoon, the snow should change over to rain as warmer air works in, first above the surface, and then at ground level. Rain showers will continue to be possible into the evening and overnight hours.

Winds will be light and variable with speeds at or below 5 mph. Eventually, winds should consolidate from the southeast with a slight increase in speed for the evening.

With the clouds and precipitation, temperatures will again be stuck in the 30s. Much of the day will be in the mid 30s, but upper 30s will be possible late in the afternoon and in the early evening.

Friday: A few morning rain showers. Some sun late. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the near 50.

Saturday: Sunshine filtered through thin clouds. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Sunday: Rain, possibly mixing with or turning to snow. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Monday: Rather sunny. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
