Cortland Police advises residents to keep car doors locked

This is a press release from the Cortland City Police Department.

This is just a brief reminder to the public, asking that they be mindful of keeping their vehicles and residences locked. The City police investigated 7 cases of larceny from motor vehicles over the weekend.  These incidents occurred predominately overnight and were spread throughout the City. All of the items that were reported stolen came from vehicles that had been left unlocked. No vehicles were entered by force or damaged. An unlocked vehicle or residence is an easy target for a thief.
