Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, May 18, 2020:

A large, meandering low pressure system to our west will bring a few rain showers to the region today.

This low will weaken and drift southeast from a position near Chicago this morning into Kentucky tonight. Locally, we will be on the very fringe of the precipitation.

Rain is most likely in the morning hours and should become less common the later in the day it gets. By this evening, there should be no rain left in the area.

The rain that does fall will be light in nature with less than a tenth of an inch falling during the daytime hours.

Winds today will generally be from the east, with a slight southerly component this morning and a northerly component this evening. Speeds will be under 10 mph and gusts of just 15-20 mph.

Temperatures will reach a high around 60 degrees before slipping into the 50s tonight.

Friday: Sun early, then a few afternoon clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
