Cortland Weather Outlook: Sunday, May 24

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, May 24, 2020:

Today, our region will be between high pressure along the New England coast and low pressure over the Midwest.

This set up will lead to another warm, sunny day.

There will be some thin clouds high in the atmosphere out ahead of the low pressure system. These should not block much of the sun, though.

Mixing with the thin clouds will be some fair-weather cumulus clouds. No precipitation is expected until well after sunset, when a stray shower or thunderstorm could move through.

Winds will be from the south at around 10 mph. Top gusts will ne just under 30 mph.

The sun and winds will help temperatures rise into the low or perhaps mid 70s. Evening temperatures will slowly fall into the upper 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Monday: A few scattered showers or thunderstorms. Some sun, otherwise. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Thursday: Partly cloudy. A small chance for a shower or storm. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
