Potential COVID-19 Exposure at Local Walmart

The Cortland County Health Department has confirmed a location of potential COVID-19 exposure from a shopper at the location listed. Members of the public who shopped at the following store on the day and time listed may have been exposed;

Walmart, 819 Bennie Road, Cortland, NY • Sunday, May 17: 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Anyone who may have been exposed at the location listed should monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 such as: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and/ or diarrhea for 14 days after their potential exposure. If symptoms do develop, stay home and call your doctor for further guidance about testing. If you are elderly, have underlying medical conditions, or are immunocompromised, call your doctor early even if your illness is mild. In an emergency call 911.

Some people who are positive for COVID-19 do not have symptoms, so it is important to stay home as much as possible to slow the spread of COVID-19. If you need essentials, be sure to stay at least 6 feet away from others at all times and wear a cloth face mask. Continue to wash your hands often, cover coughs and sneezes, disinfect surfaces, and stay informed.
