This is a press release from Cortland County Clerk of the Legislature Eric Mulvihill.

Cortland County Legislative Chairman Paul Heider announcing today that starting Thursday, June 4th, outdoor dining at restaurants will be permitted in phase two of reopening.

Restaurants in Central New York can reopen for outdoor dining with certain restrictions in place.

Heider says, “Outdoor tables must be spaced six feet apart, all staff must wear face coverings and customers must also wear face coverings when not seated.”

Heider urged those businesses that can accommodate outdoor seating to make sure they complete the required safety plan and file the required affirmation with New York State attesting that they will follow the required guidelines to operate safely. The affirmation and safety plans can be found on the Cortland County website at Cortland-co.org.

Heider says, “Many of our local eateries and establishments have been looking forward to seeing their customers.” Today we take another step in getting Cortland County back open for business and I couldn’t be more pleased”.

Customers and owners are reminded of the importance of following sanitation protocols to keep moving the phased re-opening process forward. Maintaining the current trend of declining COVID cases and minimal hospitalizations are key benchmarks to continue the forward momentum.
