Cortland Weather Outlook: Friday, June 19

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, June 19, 2020:

As moisture in the atmosphere continues to increase on the backside of our dominating high pressure system, some small chances for rain will finally return to the area.

Today will start off the same as every other day this week. Bright, sun-filled skies will persist through much of the morning hours with just a few fair weather clouds bubbling up late in the morning.

Unlike previous days, these clouds will be able to grow through the afternoon and one or two may be able to produce some rain.

The rain that develops will be very isolated and generally light. The overwhelming majority of the region will not see rain, and those that do will find it does not bring much relief from the dry weather.

Temperatures will climb into the low 80s today with dewpoints in the low 60s. That should make for a warm, but not too hot or humid afternoon.

Winds will be light once again, coming from the south at around 5 mph. Top gusts will be around 15 mph.

Skies will clear tonight and temperatures will gradually fall back through the 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Saturday: Partly cloudy. A couple pop-up afternoon showers or storms. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. One or two afternoon showers or storms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Monday: Clouds and some sun. Showers and thunderstorms likely. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy. Some showers or storms possible, but still uncertain. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.
