Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, July 6

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, July 6, 2020:

Temperatures will continue to rise today as we get started with a very hot week.

With sunshine this morning and only scattered fair weather clouds this afternoon, there will be little to prevent our temperatures from reaching their full potential.

A late day shower or storm is very unlikely, but cannot be 100% ruled out.

Light winds under 5 mph will have little impact, but will generally be from the north or northeast.

Highs will probably top out just shy of 90 degrees for most of the county. If anywhere does hit 90, it will be in the southern or western portions, or in the city of Cortland.

Skies will clear tonight but temperatures will remain in the 70s well into the evening. Finally, near midnight, temperatures will drop into the 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Tuesday: Partly cloudy and hot. Maybe a late shower or storm. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 90s.

Wednesday: A mix of sun and clouds. Maybe an afternoon shower or storm. Morning lows near 70. Afternoon highs near 90.

Thursday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs near 90.

Friday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 90s.
