Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, July 12, 2020:
After a couple of busy weather days following a hot week, today should be quieter on both fronts.
The sun will mix with fair-weather clouds and a deck of thinner clouds high in the atmosphere. The sunniest portion of the day should be this morning.
A few small, brief, isolated showers will pop up this afternoon. Most areas will not see rain, and those that do will only see it for about a half-hour or less.
Temperatures will be warm, but not hot, with highs peaking near or just above 80 degrees. That is about where our average high is for mid-July.
Winds will start from the southwest at 5-10 mph but will end up from the northwest at about 10 mph by the afternoon. Peak gusts on the day will be near 25 mph.
Conditions will remain more or less the same this evening, though the chances for a shower will decrease even further.
Evening temperatures will fall into upper 60s with low 60s during the overnight.
