Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, July 13, 2020:

A small piece of energy in the atmosphere will rotate around the low that brought rain to the region Saturday night.

That low is situated over eastern Canada and continues to lift northeast away from the region.

This bundle of energy will touch off a few widely scattered, brief showers today, especially during the midday and early afternoon hours. Many areas will not see rain, and those that do will not see very much.

Outside of any showers, skies will be a mix of sun and puffy cumulus clouds.

Winds will be from the west and northwest at 5-10 mph. Winds this afternoon will be a bit stronger than the morning. Top gusts should reach 15-20 mph.

Afternoon highs will be in the mid to perhaps upper 70s.

Skies will remain partly cloudy tonight, though the clouds should be fewer after sunset. Evening temperatures will drop into the low 60s.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy. Possibly a brief afternoon shower. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: Plenty of sunshine. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs near 80.

Thursday: Rain and/or thunderstorms likely late in the day. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: A morning shower. Then, increasing sunshine. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs near 80.
