Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, July 15

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, July 15, 2020:

High pressure will pass east of the region today, keeping our weather dry and sunny and increasing temperatures.

There will be plenty of sun today, though a few small fair-weather cumulus are almost always going to develop during this time of the year. No rain showers are expected, though.

Winds will be light with the high passing overhead. The wind will be nearly calm through the morning before eventually increasing to around 5 mph from the south or southeast. Top gusts will be 10-15 mph.

Warmer air will start to move in as the high moves east and the wind increases. Look for afternoon temperatures to reach the low 80s. Dewpoints will remain in the 50s, so it will not feel muggy out.

Tonight will have mostly clear skies with temperatures falling through the 70s and into the 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Thursday: Partly cloudy. A few scattered showers in the afternoon. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: A few scattered showers or storms. Some sun otherwise. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Saturday: Sunny with some thin cirrus clouds. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs near 90.
