Cortland Weather Outlook: Sunday, July 19

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, July 19, 2020:

An enhanced southwesterly flow between high pressure over the Atlantic Ocean and low pressure north of the Great Lakes will lead to one of the hotter days of the year today.

Southwest winds will increase to 10-15 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph. The strongest winds will be from the late morning into the afternoon.

Skies will be plenty sunny, though mixed with some thin cirrus clouds and fair-weather cumulus clouds. A brief shower or storm cannot be completely ruled out but is very unlikely.

High temperatures will push into the 90s throughout the county, with the city of Cortland and areas along the southern and western boarders pushing toward the mid 90s.

Dewpoints will be in the low 60s, so it will feel a bit muggy at times.

Clouds and a few showers or storms will be possible this evening. Again, the chances for rain are not very high. Temperatures will be stuck in the 70s thanks to the clouds.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Monday: Sun and clouds. A couple early showers. Morning lows near 70. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Tuesday: More sun than clouds. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Wednesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Thursday: Scattered showers and storms. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
