Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, July 22, 2020:

A low pressure and its associated cold front will move through today, triggering some stormy weather.

Clouds and a few showers will be present through the morning and midday hours. A few breaks of sun will also be possible here and there.

During the early afternoon, the chances for sun will increase, even as thunderstorms start to develop to the west.

By the mid and late afternoon, one or more clusters of thunderstorms will move into Central New York, possibly impacting Cortland County. There is a slight chance that these could be severe with damaging wind gusts.

Showers and a few thunderstorms will linger into the evening hours. If it rains heavily late in the afternoon, some evening fog will also be possible.

High temperatures today will reach the low 80s, though some extra sunshine could push temperatures to the mid 80s briefly. Tonight’s temperatures will remain in the 70s.

Winds outside of any thunderstorms will be from the southwest at 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 mph.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs near 90.
